2014 Project: Back to School

Thank You for Helping make the Seventh Annual Project Back to School a great success!

With the help of generous businesses, organizations and individuals, this year, over 3,000 new backpacks filled with notebooks, pencils, rulers, crayons, scissors and more were distributed to boys and girls living in New York City homeless shelters.

School can be challenging for any child – with the pressure of homework and getting to school on time, but for the nearly 25,000 children living in shelters – with little space to complete assignments, long commutes to school every morning and the stigma of being homeless – facing the school day can be especially troublesome. The gift of a new backpack and supplies can, and has, made all the difference.
